Not much to say in this post except that I went to airport beach on Saturday. Airport beach is so named because it is next to the
airport. The beach is small but the little hike to the beach is cool with waves crashing up through blow holes in the lava rock. While snorkeling at airport beach I saw
sea turtles and the dorsal fin of a
black tip reef shark. Airport beach was also recently in the news because a fisherman was swept tragically into one of the blow holes. It was also the site chosen for the
detonation of various Vietnam era explosives discovered during some road work. Story
here.

I didn't know you had a blog -nice!
So, my favorite part about the explosive discovery and the part that I am dying to tell you is how they had specially trained people come in to detonate the stuff and we (someone here) just threw all the bombs in the back of a pick-up truck and drove them over to the airport where they could be properly taken care of. Yeah. That sounds like a good idea. Just drive them across the island. On the ONLY road we have. Excellent.
